The Incumbent shall reports To: Protection Engineer
Workstation: South West Highlands Zone Mbeya
POSITION OBJECTIVE:
Assist Protection Engineer to carry out planned preventive maintenance of all electrical equipment.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
a) Installing, maintenance and troubleshooting protective relays
b) Test, repair and calibration of protective relay in Testing of elements in power system such as transformers, current transformers and voltage transformers
c) Troubleshoot faulty control circuits of switchgears
d) Assist Protection Engineer in carrying out of commissioning of electrical plants
e) Doing any other jobs as assigned by Protection Engineer
f) Prepare weekly, monthly and annual 'reports for records and future reference and submit to Protection Engineer within agreed time
KEY KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED FOR THE JOB:
• Ordinary Diploma or FTC in Electrical Engineering
• Certificate of Secondary Education (Form IV and/or VI)
• Good Computer and Communication Skills
