JOB DESCRIPTIONS:
Mbeya University of Science and Technology (MUST) provides Technical Education,
Research and Consultancy services. Due to rapid technological changes in the world
today in many fields, there are ever widening technical skill gaps in the labour market of
scientists, technicians and engineers. MUST has set for itself the task of responding to
these changes at the same pace as that at which the technology is changing by making
frequent reviews of its curricula and developing new curricula and Programmes to fit
and fill the skill gaps that new technologies pose. MUST, therefore plays its role of
training scientists, engineers and technologists in numbers and quality so as to spearhead
development in the public and private sector.
Mbeya University of Science and Technology (MUST) invites applications from suitably and competent persons to fill vacancies that exist in the Teaching and Administration Departments of the University.
ICT OFFICER II (1 POST)
Qualification and Personal Attributes required:
Holder of Bachelor degree majoring in Computer Science or Information and Communication Technology, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, Telecommunication, Electrical Engineering and any other relevant field.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Assist in capturing user Customer Requirement Specifications- CRS
• Perform systems analysis and design
• Design, install and configure LAN and WAN infrastructure;
• Review LAN and WAN architecture;
• Participate in iterative development with users;
• Create and produce multimedia content;
• Manage multimedia tools and equipment;
• Test web pages;
• Update and manage web site;
• Design, develop, implement and test Database;
• Develop back and front-end connectivity;
• Ensure software patches are implemented timely;
• Install, configure, and update antivirus software;
• Perform any other duties as assigned by supervisor
